YOUR HOME / YOUR NEXT DECISION
Should I repair or replace my AC?
There isn’t one age, repair price, or percentage that answers this for every home. Understand the failure, the repair option, and what replacement would provide before deciding.

01 / THE FINDINGS
Understand what actually failed.
A refrigerant leak, compressor problem, electrical or control fault, airflow issue, blower or coil problem, repeated breakdowns, and poor performance raise different questions. These are possible categories—not a diagnosis of your system.
Ask what was confirmed, how it was confirmed, and what remains uncertain.
2. Understand the repair option.
- Is repair technically possible?
- What gets repaired?
- What does it cost?
- What warranty applies?
- What does the repair solve?
- Are there other known problems?
3. Understand what replacement provides.
- What equipment is proposed?
- Why was it selected?
- How was capacity determined?
- What installation work is included?
- What warranty applies?
- What is excluded?
4. Compare the evidence and uncertainty.
Consider the confirmed condition, repair history, available parts, refrigerant considerations, performance, and what each option would leave unresolved.
“Replace after X years” or “replace if repair exceeds X%” may be rough heuristics. They should not replace understanding the actual system and proposal.
If important findings are missing or opinions differ, another qualified on-site assessment may help clarify the decision.

Why TrustPoint is different
Getting another contractor’s opinion can be valuable. Another contractor may also reasonably hope to earn the work.
TrustPoint doesn’t perform the repair, sell the equipment, or earn a commission based on what you choose. We help you understand the decision.
The second set of eyes that doesn’t need to win the job.
Why TrustPoint exists →Let’s look at your situation.
Bring the explanation or proposal you already have. TrustPoint can help separate what is documented from what still needs an answer.
